DEEP OSCILLATION® Therapy (DOT)

Newly acquired for use in the Clinic is the Hivamat DEEP OSCILLATION® Therapy (DOT) device. This is being used in the Clinic for conditions such as; Lymphoedema and Lipoedema, Fibromylagia and I am also using for Pre and Post Surgery to aid in recovery.

Clinically proven DEEP OSCILLATION® electrostatic lymphatic drainage permeates an 8 cm depth without any pressure being applied, making it ideal in early in the post operative healing process

  • DOT significantly reduces pain, swelling and inflammation, improving range of motion and function. Pre and post operative therapy with deep oscillation shortens recovery time with smoother and less resultant scar tissue
  • Chronic conditions (including scar tissue) respond well to this therapy
  • DOT will be used in conjunction with MLD as part of your treatment protocols where appropriate

    • How does it work?

    During DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy the therapist simply wears a pair of light vinyl gloves and uses their normal massage techniques to deliver low frequency, intermittent, electrostatic waves to the tissue layers, permeating a depth of 8 cm through skin, subcutaneous fat, muscles, blood and lymph vessels with proven effects in the connective tissue. DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy breaks down excess inflammatory matter which is gently flushed into the lymph system for removal, along with any abnormal fluid build up DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy does not cause heat or electrical stimulation, and is safe over pins and plates.

    It is very important to realise that DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy does not heat or electrically stimulate the tissue like the thermal setting of Ultrasound or stimulate in the same way as Tens. Part of the patent of DEEP OSCILLATION® therapy involves an active discharge device. The circuit stops and starts and so can be safely used throughout the day.
