TEO ā€“ Therapeutic Electrostatic Oscillation

I have had the Hivamat DEEP OSCILLATIONĀ® Therapy (DOT) device from around 2020 and now I am excited to announce that I have the Medi-Rent TEO device.

TEO is a non-invasive treatment method that delivers a range of therapeutic benefits via electrostatic oscillation. It works by generating an electrostatic field between the applicatorā€”or the therapistā€™s handsā€”and the patientā€™s tissue. This interaction creates a gentle, pulsating kneading effect known as deep oscillation.

The new device has being used in the Clinic for and having great success with the following (I will keep adding to the list as we progress through the next few months

  • Lymphoedema arm swelling (ask me about this combined with the SIPC pump) and leg Ā / ankle swelling
  • Tummy love
  • Any areas of fibrosis
  • Face therapy
  • Pain and muscle tears
  • Pre and Post Surgery to aid in recovery with bruising, pain and swelling (so good!)
  • Lipoedema pain especially around the hips

How does it work?

During Therapeutic Electrostatic Oscillation, the therapist simply wears a pair of light vinyl gloves or uses the oscillating heads Ā to treat. I use a combination of Vodder MLD Ā and effleurage techniques to apply the electrostatic waves to the tissue layers. The oscillation permeates to a depth of 8 cm through skin, subcutaneous fat, muscles, blood and lymph vessels.

This is where the magic happens with the effect in the connective tissue.

  • Therapeutic Electrostatic Oscillation breaks down excess inflammatory matter which is gently flushed into the lymph system for removal, along with any abnormal fluid build up (and it feels good!)
  • Therapeutic Electrostatic Oscillation does not cause heat or electrical stimulation, and is safe over pins and plates.
  • It is very important to realise that Therapeutic Electrostatic Oscillation does not heat or electrically stimulate the tissue like the thermal setting of Ultrasound or stimulate in the same way as Tens.
