Your Face

Everyone can see you with the puffy face, dark circles and dull looking skin. We know that our bodies are constantly detoxifying, but even the strongest constitutions can do with a boost. The secret to keeping your body’s natural detox processes humming along to help resolve those sleepless night issues, those dreaded headaches or that persistent sinus ache is to treat yourself to a lymphatic facial.

Lymphatic massage aka as Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), is a hands-on, lymph-stimulating treatment known for its gentle massage strokes and dramatic results. MLD works smarter, not harder. It’s not the intensity of the massage strokes that boost lymph flow, it’s the positioning over the body’s key lymph nodes. It’s so calming that clients often fall asleep during the treatment so double bonus of great skin and a relaxed body.

A lymphatic massage for the face is also ideal treatment for conditions such as sinus, TMJ, Hashimoto disease and migraines (but not in the acute phase).

What to Expect Post Treatment

Typically after a treatment you can expect skin to look clearer and feel softer, eyes to be brighter, dark areas below the eyes to lighten, puffiness and congestion to reduce and a more defined jaw-line.

The Treatment

In the Clinic, I use the Dr Vodder technique which employs light touch carried out in a particular sequence. Because the benefits of lymphatic drainage are cumulative, I recommend splurging on a series of treatments every one to two months to see the best results. It’s also important to follow up at home by drinking plenty of water, getting regular exercise.

Recommended Treatment Plan

I would recommend budgeting for three treatments, the first to include a 45-60 minute consultation and then two more 30 or 45 minute treatments as close as you can over one to two weeks. This way you can see the results and then decide if this should be part of your regular wellness support.
